Book Club is sponsored by The Church at Covenant Park, near the Soccer Association of Columbia (SAC) fields. We join together as those who like to read or would like to read more and be able to discuss with others. Membership is not limited to Church members and all are welcome.
Are there any suggestions for the next book? I will post suggestions from previous meetings later to help selection, but feel free to suggest something we haven't thought about before.
Since I'm new to the group, I'm not sure if you've already read this one: Peace Like a River by Leif Enger. I read it a few years ago and loved it - would love to discuss it with the group. It's a novel, won Time Book of the Year when first out. One of the themes is "what does it mean to be a witness?" The context is a devout Christian family, which is encouraging also. Enger is a reporter for Minnesota Public Radio.
I must admit I am drawn to this one. Amazon actually ties this one to another book I had suggested prior, Little Bee by Chris Cleave. Peace Like a River has already received awards though.
